- Andy Warhol was an obsessive collector. Starting in 1974, he assembled 610 Time Capsules, putting together all sorts of things (from fanzines to food) into cardboard boxes and sending them to storage, to be opened at a later date.Today, Warhol’s Time Capsules (a project that is considered one serial artwork) are housed in our museum archives.We’re slowly cataloguing the items of these.

- Obsessed with celebrity, consumer culture, and mechanical (re)production, Pop artist Andy Warhol created some of the most iconic images of the 20th century. As famous for his quips as for his art—he variously mused that “art is what you can get away with” and “everyone will be famous for 15 minutes”—Warhol drew widely from popular culture and everyday subject matter, creating works.
