Oct 03, 2005 To save your progress, kill all the monsters in the cave, and it will come up with 'You cannot log out until 10 seconds after combat'. This makes you sure that you have killed every monster, and it is safe to log out. You dont need to answer all of them just w/e you can say to help me is appreciated. I need some help with the Tzhaar Fight Caves but I will first tell you my equipment. Stats Attack: 77 Strength: 76 Defense: 76 Hit Points: 77 Range: 70 Prayer: 60 Magic: 70 Equipped Helm - Guthans Helmet Amulet. The TzHaar Fight Cave is among the hardest minigames in Old School RuneScape. To fully complete this minigame, it's strongly recommended that the player have high Combat skills and effective equipment. If the player clicks log out while fighting in the caves, they would automatically be logged out at the end of the wave. See full list on oldschoolrunescape.fandom.com.
A few weeks ago, I decided to take on the challenge of completing the fight caves. I had some friends who had done it, and they all kept saying how hard it was, and how id never be able to do it as a level 78 ( which is what I was when I fot my fire cape, but more on that later). Now that I think about it, they were either trying to boost their own self esteem, or they were just terrible at runescape. Well I wanted to prove them wrong, so I looked up guides on how to do the caves, and i read pretty much every one out there. THEY ALL SAID THE SAME THING. That you need 75 range minimum, atleast 54 prayer, 70 constitution, and 70 defence. well heres the stats that I did it with: 68 range, 50 prayer, 66 constitution, and 63 defence. Now Im not saying that It wouldnt be easier to have higher levels, it would help tremendously. Im just trying to save you some agonizing training. So, without further ado, I give you my guide on how I conquered the caves.
Guide
Requirements(minimum/better/best)
Range: 65/70/75+
Prayer:43/50/55+
Constitution: 60/70/75+
Defence: 60/65/70+
If you need to train any levels to get to these requirements, I suggest you follow this list of skills from first priority to last: Range, Prayer, Defence, Constitution, Attack, Strength (the last two are only if you choose to melee during the beginning of the fights, which I dont recommend.
Item requirements(minimum/better/best)
Head: highest level coif you can wear/god mitre/helmet of neitzinot
Neck: fury amulet/ glory amulet/ holy or unholy sumbol, depending on what bonuses you want
Cape: god cape/obsidian cape/avas accumulator
Chest: snakeskin chest (I dont recommend it)/highest level dragonhide you can wear/ armadyl chest
legs: rune legs/ veracs plateskirt/armadyl legs
boots:snakeskin boots/rune boots/dragon boots
gloves: snakeskin gloves/dragon gauntlets/RFD gloves (barrows gloves)
ring: explorers ring 3/archer ring/imbued archer ring
shield: rune kiteshield (I dont recommend it)/dragon sq shield/ god books (holy, balance, unholy)
weapon; adamant c’bow (I dont recommend it)/rune c’bow/ Karil’s c’bow (if you are willing to give up a shield)
Arrows: adamant bolts or above, or bolt racks if using Karils (need this no matter what)
All in all, I spent about 2 mil on what I wore to the caves, and then sold it all back for the same amount afterwards.
Inventory
This is what my inventory was when I completed the caves, and I would advise you to make it as close to this as possible:
300 purple sweets (they can be expensive, but they are an AMAZING help during the caves)
one ranging potion (I’d advise two, especially if you are below 70 range. I should have brought two.
Boss
6 saradomin brews (a necessity, they will be your defence boost and emergency food)
19 super restore potions (use these instead of prayer pots to counteract the negative effects of the brews; you can replace one with a ranging potion if needed)
holy wrench (extremely useful but rather hard to get, it adds a few prayer points when you dring a super restore. it is a reward from the Rum Deal quest)
you will also need to bring bolts, and here are how many if you are using adamant bolts:
Range lvl # of bolts
65 3400
70 2700
75 2000
note that if you are wearing ava’s accumulator, you can cut the amounts in half. Now onto the Caves themselves…
Fights Guide
Before you go in the caves, be sure to take a swig of a saradomin brew, a super restore, and a ranging potion (in that order) and be sure your prayer points and life points are maxed out. also be sure to replace these with full potions before you enter the caves.
In the caves, there are 5 different types of mosters you will be fighting other than the TzTok-Jad.
1. Tz-Kih lvl 22 They attack with melee. Kill as soon as possible, unless blocked by safe spot. They drain your prayer by 1+1/10 of whatever they hit against you (so even if they dont hit you, they still drain a prayer point)
2. Tz-Kek lvl 45 They attack with melee. Wont hit too often, but when they do, they can hit up to 100. once killed, they divide into two smaller level 22 versions of themselves.
3. Tok-Xil lvl 90 They attack with range. You need some good defence or protect from missiles prayer on, because these guys hit you often and usually around or above 100.
4.Yt-Mej Kot lvl 180 They attack with melee. These guys arent a problem if you use a safespot. If they are within melee range, they can hit up to around 250, so watch out. If within melee range, they can also heal themselves or any other monsters, so try to stay safe-spotted.
5.Ket-Zek lvl 360 They attack with magic and melee. These guys are the most annoying, as they generally take a long time to kill. NEVER go within melee range of one of these, as they will kill you. Always have protect from magic prayer on while one of these guys is alive, even if there is a level 90 around, or else they will kill you. Also, when you know one of these is coming in the next wave, have the prayer on a few seconds before the wave starts.

To make things easier to understand in this section, here is a basic map of the fight caves….
All the numbers are where monsters spawn during the fights. A and B are the two safespots I use, and they can be used together using this method:
1. stay on side A of claw rock until you are sure no monsters have spawned there.
2.be sure none have, and then run immediately to spot C (in the corner) this should bring all the monsters to be stuck on E ( which gives you a safespot) This also brings in the rangers (the level 90s and 360s) so you can kill them without worrying about the melee monsters attacking you.
3. You then simply move to spot B and attack. If monsters do spawn in spot 1, you can do the same method; they will simply get trapped across the claw rock (if its a ranger, they cant even attack you!). This method works the same way with spots D, A, and F. I used this method my entire time in the fight caves, and it helped tremendously.
If you are going to do this method , however, there is a certain order to kill the monsters which will decrease the prayer used. First, kill the 360s if they are present, using protect from magic prayer. Then, kill the 90’s if they are present, using the protect from missiles prayer if your defence is less than 70 (or use a saradomin brew) then, kill the 22s, as they can drain your prayer. At this point, only the 180s and 45s should be left (if they are both included in the wave). The 45s change into two level 22s once you kill them, and these 22s can go around the safespot. So if the 45s are behind the 180s, kill them first, and if not, kill the 180s first.
Jad Fight
Once you reach wave 62, you will want to move to the Northeast section of the caves, around point G on the map. Once you kill the 2 360s, move immediately to point G, against the wall. When Jad comes, he will be stuck on the other side of italy rock. This allows you to take a good look at what was for a long time the highest level monster in runescape, and, more importantly, initiate the attack when the time comes. This would be a perfect time to use your potions and sweets, to be ready for the final battle. when you attack, always be sure to stay out of melee range. Now jad attacks with melee, range, and magic, but you shouldnt have to worry about melee. You will always want to be on your prayer screen, unless you are drinking a super restore (inventory is F1 and prayer menu is F3 for quick changes). The good thing about this fight is that you always know what he is going to attack with. If he is going to attack with magic, he will bend down and a fireball will appear above his head. You then have a second or two to switch to magic prayer (try to do it in less than a second, its really not too hard). If he is going to attack with range, he will rear up and smash his feet on the ground, which gives you about a second to change to range prayer (as before, make it less than a second). Once you get him to half health, a group of four level 108s will appear and begin to heal him. Attack them as soon as you can (making sure to always have the correct prayer on) BUT DO NOT KILL THEM. If you do, they will only respond a few seconds later. You only want them to focus on you instead of Jad. They hit about as much and as hard as a 90, so youll want to watch your health and use a saradomin brew when needed. As soon as they are all attacking you, continue to attack Jad until he dies, when you will be awarded with your fire cape and a little over 16,000 tokkul!
